Dia 1; Misminay-Moray – Maras – Raqchi

Misminay: We’ll start with one of the best panoramic views of the Inca ruins of Moray. These circular terraced Andes were used as a greenhouse laboratory to experiment with products from different climatic zones.

The singletrack trail at Moray is smooth, featuring small verticals, curves, and at the end of the route, there’s a double black diamond downhill section that is super exciting!

Maras Dh trail

Also known as the Maras Stampede, this is the classic annual competition where cyclists from all over the world, including locals and national Peruvians, participate in this great downhill event in the Sacred Valley.

With over 9 km of incredible downhill sections crossing the salt mines, there are more than 4,000 salt production wells and a single underground water spring that flows from the Qaqawiñay mountain.

Raqchi Dh trail

Located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, this Inca path retains 40% of its originality. Today, you can enjoy biking down this downhill route in the valley.

It features rocky sections, Inca stairs, fun curves, and some jumps built by local cyclists. At the beginning of the Raqchi trail, you’ll have an incredible viewpoint of the Sacred Valley, along with a spectacular view of the archaeological site of Machu Qolqa.

Dia 2; La Maxima – Other Side – Perolniyoc

La Maxima dh trail: Descend from the highest peak of the mountain at 4,502 meters along the epic ridge, rolling through grass until you connect with the Inca Trail, featuring vertical sections and smooth descents, all while enjoying the most stunning views of the town of Huayllabamba.

The terrain on La Maxima route is 50% compact, with grass and rocks, and the other 50% is loose dirt, which means it can get very sticky and slippery during the rainy season.

This route has also been selected for the Machu Picchu Epic competition because it boasts an endless singletrack of over 15 km of pure trail and all the features of enduro downhill.

Other Side Dh trail

Named for its location, this route is situated on the back side of the Sacred Valley or the other face of the Inca Valley; characterized by compact terrain in sun or rain.

At the start of the route, we will have views of both faces of the Sacred Valley, as well as the southern Andes mountain range and many paths connecting to Inca ruins, including the wonder of Machu Picchu.

Today, we will descend one of these paths, known for its vertical rocks, with the last section being the most fluid and enjoyable.

As we cross this MTB trail, we are greeted with an amazing view of the Perolniyoq waterfall and the archaeological site of Raqaypata, known as a great barn in the mountains used for food storage during the Inca era.

The terrain of this MTB route consists of loose dirt, stairs, small climbs, and over 70% downhill. We will also pass through local homes and agricultural areas until we reach the Inca ruins of Ñaupa Iglesia.

Dia 3; Inca Avalanche – Happy Line – Pumamarca

The Inka Avalanche trail is one of the most famous race routes for many years, known as the Mega Avalanche because everyone starts at the same time. The fastest to reach the trail has the advantage of winning.

That’s why it’s a must-have in this MTB enduro package! The sections of this trail are super fun thanks to the mix of flowy sections, natural jumps, tight turns, steep drops, water puddles, bridges, a rock garden with water, and more.

Happy Line Dh trail

This mountain bike trail was built by the local community of Tanca, Phiry, with the support of the Ollantaytambo district municipality. It’s a team effort that deserves applause and gratitude from all cyclists in Cusco, Peru.

The trail also starts from the same Malaga Pass (4,300m), descending the ancient Inka Avalanche trail and connecting to the Happy Line bike park in the Sacred Valley.

Dia 4; Ancestral paths of the sacred valley

Lamay Sapaccto trail: The most popular mountain biking trail in the Lamay district, located in the central northern part of the mountains. At the beginning and end, the trail flows smoothly, but at the intersection, the path features Inca stone steps, tight curves, and rock gardens to enhance your enduro technique.

This route in Lamay Huancco is located to the northwest of the city. The start of the trail is mixed with fluid sections and small steps.

Dia 5; Ampalares – Lares

Ampalares trail: This is a hidden route that not everyone knows about—an epic Inca trail that still preserves its unique essence. That’s why it couldn’t be left out of this 5-day MTB package in the Sacred Valley.

To reach the summit at 4,710 meters, we’ll push our bikes for about 30 to 40 minutes from 4,460 meters and then embark on one of the best enduro adventures. Get ready for thrilling downhill sections, flat areas for pedaling, rocky gardens, and stunning views of the mountains and rivers.

The first section is smooth and fun until we reach a small canyon. After that, the trail features technical sections, steps, and bridge crossings. Finally, after passing through the town of Totora, we will switch from asphalt roads to the ancient trail, leading us to the province of Calca.
