Day 1; Cusco – Quebrada Honda – Yanatili
Today, we will travel from Cusco to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which is located at an elevation of 4,568 meters. From the very start, you’ll be amazed by the Andes, their mountains, the locals dressed in their traditional Andean outfits, the typical stone houses, and the animals like alpacas and llamas. You’ll also see the rivers and the beautiful green and yellow hues of the mountains, all while enjoying the fresh air.
The road to the jungle is quite easy to navigate, as it’s a paved road with just a few small potholes that are easy to handle.
As we descend, the temperature will start to rise from 12°C to between 25°C and 32°C, and the colors of the mountains will become more vibrant and lush.
When it’s time for lunch, our chef will be waiting for us with a delicious meal prepared near the river, complete with a waterfall that will leave you in awe.

We’ll learn all about the journey of chocolate, from the cacao tree to the drying, selection, and chocolate paste.
Illapani Waterfall
Our first stop is the stunning Illapani Waterfall, which boasts an impressive drop of over 80 meters, creating a natural pool that’s perfect for cooling off from the jungle heat. Located in the Cusco region, in the province of La Convención and the district of Echarate, it’s a must-see!
The hike from the bus stop to Illapani Waterfall will take about 40 to 50 minutes. The trail is well-marked, and along the way, we’ll cross a bridge and pass by plantations of lemons, papayas, wild potatoes (unkucha), pacay, cherimoyas, cacao, bananas, and a variety of other plants and fruits.

The walk to this location is quick, taking just about 3 minutes from the main road connecting Quillabamba.
After soaking in the beauty of these spots, we’ll make our way to our cozy cabin. There’s plenty of space to walk around and even a spot to cool off in an artificial pool.

From the moment I met Daniel at the Buho Tours office, I knew I could trust him. He organized a personalized tour for our family of four, and everything was perfectly planned and exactly as agreed. The price was fair and reasonable. What really stood out was the quality of the equipment. The bikes, helmets, and gloves were all in excellent condition and of very high quality. We felt safe throughout the entire trip. I highly recommend this company to anyone visiting the Cusco region who wants to have an unforgettable adventure. The tour was absolutely amazing! Wojtek and family from PolandPublicado en Google Shomita MandalTrustindex verifica que la fuente original de la reseña sea Google. Daniel was extremely helpful and helping us arrange a last-minute biking trip in the sacred Valley where we were staying. The trail was fun but just a warning it is bumpy. My boys were looking for something a little bit harder, and at one point he gave us the option and since I haven’t biked in a long time we took, the slightly easier route, but more difficult routes are available. The views were amazing and the other Daniel who was our guide was very knowledgeable and extremely nice.
